Greenpeace presented a claim in the European Union against the harbour and the European Comissionaccepted it and is now studying the legality of the project. So for the moment we have been able to stop it.
Some local actions have also been taken: on saturday 16th of July 2003 a demonstration took place in El Medano beach in the form of a human chain of more than 500 meters. It seems that more people are beginning to get involved in the fight.
A twice as long chain of people was seen in January 2004 in the Capital of Santan Cruz.
